Our Brexit programme has been developed in response to the momentous UK referendum result in June 2016. British politics is set to be dominated by the issues surrounding the decision to leave the EU and it is vital that students and young people are aware of what is happening, and how it will potentially effect their education journey and young adult lives.
The day is fast paced, energised and engaging, themed around creating a new political party to contest the next General Election. In teams, students will work through modules on Manifesto Building, Brexit Policy, and Branding and Campaigning. The day concludes in an exciting ‘real life’ election where teams present their work before their peers vote on a winning group in a snap ballot.
Our Brexit day is a fantastic vehicle for raising political awareness amongst young people and equipping them with the facts they need to know in this turbulent time for the country. Brexit hits key areas of the DofE directive on “Promoting British Values” as well as elements of the Citizenship Curriculum.
Like all of our CragRats programmes, Brexit is rammed full of Employability Skills learning, from time management, team work and delegation, through to creative thinking and public speaking.
