CragRats’ acclaimed flagship Business and Enterprise programme is a unique take on the hit BBC TV show 'Dragons Den'. Dragons is a competitive, fast-paced and highly-charged learning event that is hugely popular with students and consistently receives incredible feedback from teachers.

How It Works

Which team will find a gap in the market?

Students are divided into teams of eight. Each team conceives a new business idea and presents it to a panel of judges at the end of the day. The teams complete challenges throughout the day including developing a business plan, a marketing campaign and financial projections for their product or service. Students are invited to think about their own USPs and what skills and qualities they can bring to their own teams.

‘Dragons’ suits all personality types and skill-sets, there is an activity to suit everyone, from finance to writers to designers and artists. What will make their ideas stand out from competitors? And will they be profitable?

Each team will learn key presentation techniques to help prepare them for the final module of the day, the ‘Pitch.’ Finally it’s time for the teams to 'pitch' their ideas to the 'Dragons', battling it out for the winning spot and an exciting prize draw!

The day is led by CragRats tutors. The teacher’s role is to act as a facilitator. You don’t need to be a business expert to take part, and you’ll also enjoy watching your students transform into budding entrepreneurs! On successful completion and for a small additional fee, students receive a certificate accredited by City & Guilds.
