Summary

A fast-paced Enterprise programme featuring video, music and enthralling skills-based challenges

Inspired by the hugely popular BBC TV show ‘The Apprentice’, ‘Create’ is a high-energy Enterprise programme with a strong contemporary feel. It’s also a firm favourite with students and teachers! Teachers are able to tailor the event to match the exact skills needs of the year group.

Learning points:
For students to:

  • Actively develop their skills in creativity, communication and presentation
  • Build confidence to apply enterprise learning to other subjects in the curriculum
  • Produce quality work both as individuals and as part of a team

How It Works

Students are divided into teams of eight. Just like in the TV show, teams compete in a series of quick-fire challenges, each one delivering unique skills. Even if a team gets off to a slow start with one challenge, they are able start with a clean sheet in the next, so nobody gets left behind.

This is a valuable opportunity for students to engage in a range of real-world industry challenges delivered by industry professionals, including the editor of Heat magazine and Top Chefs. Challenges include writing press releases and creating advertisements.

In the riveting finale teams select one of their completed programmes and present their ‘pitch’ to the judges. The winning team is entered into our valuable prize draw!

The day is led by CragRats tutors. The teacher’s role is to act as a facilitator. You don’t need to be a business expert to take part, and you’ll also have some fun! On successful completion and for a small additional fee, students receive a certificate accredited by City & Guilds.
